Dan Smith

Chief Operating Officer

With 16 plus years in the healthcare field Daniel has a wealth of healthcare knowledge. He has worked strategically with physician leaders and has operated primary care and specialty health centers with University of Utah Health, a highly renowned academic medical center and Livingston HealthCare, a successful critical access hospital where he was part of the executive team. He has extensive leadership and management experience including time spent as the President of and a Board Member to the Medical Group Management Association of Utah (MGMA Utah) for 6 years. He has a strong ability to interact with all levels of an organization to achieve the goal.

Being a strategic thinker, Dan has an eye for operational efficiency. While at University of Utah Health, in one of his roles, he played in integral part in developing and providing operational best practices for the organization resulting in more operationally efficient clinics while still maintaining high patient satisfaction scores. During his career he has built and developed multiple primary care and specialty clinic programs. One of those was directing the implementation of an integrated Behavioral Health and Telemedicine program that provided more comprehensive care to the community.  Daniel loves to work and is known for taking a focused and detailed approach to move mountains and get the job done.

Daniel does his best to live by advice given by Warren Buffet, “Surround yourself with people that push you to do better. No drama or negativity. Just higher goals and higher motivation. Good times and positive energy. No jealousy or hate. Simply bringing out the best in each other.” He’s found this to be the key to success.

He received his undergraduate degree in Behavioral Science and Health and Masters in Business from the University of Utah.

In his free time, Daniel loves to spend time with his wife and four kids exploring the mountain and rivers of Montana, with a fly rod in hand if possible, and skiing and snowboarding wherever there is snow.
